About Me

I have been a psychologist in independent practice in Portland since 1991. I grew up in Indiana and attended college at Valparaiso University. I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Wyoming in 1989, where I focused on the psychology of women.  After graduate school I developed I worked in research and public mental health, with an emphasis on children.  When I moved to Portland, I established my independent practice, treating and evaluating adults and children.

In addition to my therapy practice, I have served as a medical expert for the Social Security Administration Office of Disability Adjudication and Review.  I am a member of the  Oregon Psychological Association and a past committee member and chair of Professional Affairs.  I am also a member of the American Psychological Association,  WOMHA Independent Practice Association (Board member 2021-present) and the Columbia River Eating Disorders Network (CREDN).

I raised two daughters as a single mother, and I know first-hand the challenges facing working parents. I enjoy swimming, fiber crafts and watching birds, but I am most likely to spend my free moments with a cup of tea and a book. [She/Her/Hers]
